Service to others is my passion. When we connect in a mind-body capacity, I am not teaching as much as helping you uncover what you already know, while providing a safe space for self-inquiry and healing to emerge. In yoga (hatha-based or thai), mentoring and groups, my primary goal is your safety and well-being as you navigate what is on your path at the moment. Together, we explore practices that can be woven throughout the workings of our daily life to optimize whole-person wellness.
Samantha is a 200E-RYT Yoga Alliance certified instructor and Thai Healing Massage practitioner. She completed her 220 hour training in Kunga Yoga with Narayani (Noelle Whittington) at the Wilmington Yoga Center, Thai Healing Massage with Shama Kern, Y12SR with Nikki Myers, ChildLight Kid’s Yoga, and OMSchooled Classroom Yoga. She has advanced her studies to include Deep Assists and Thai Yoga, Yoga for
Healing Trauma, YogaMaze Vinyasa, Fire and Nectar Flow, and Ayurvedic Practices / Dinacharya. Samantha’s primary teachers include Narayani (Noelle Whittington), Shama Kern, Dennis Purcell, Sally Delisle, Nikki Myers, Sarah Herrington, Carla Lundgren, Amy Ippoliti, Noah Maze, and Marc Holzman.
Her teaching, with a hatha/vinyasa foundation, interweaves dinacharya (daily rhythms), energy medicine, assists, and thai massage, allowing space for connecting with the inner self, healing, expansion, and service. She also enjoys the outdoors, music, intuitive inquiry, and creative expression. All of these inform a dedication to the practice of yoga as a way of life, for herself and her clients. Previous teaching includes elementary age classroom yoga in Yokosuka, Japan, public children and adult classes, and special focus workshops in Japan and the Pacific Northwest.
Samantha predominantly works privately with 1:1 or small group yoga and thai yoga massage clients and co-leads yoga + writing retreats at Mindfulness + the Muse. Children’s classes are designed around Gardner’s theory of the 8 Multiple Intelligence’s. Group sessions are also available for Boy/Girl Scouts, Track and Other Sports Teams, Fit 4 Life Programs, and more. 1:1 mindfulness + movement mentoring is also available.
Your practice should meet your energy and needs where they are at every time you grace your mat. Samantha’s goal is to provide skilled guidance and support through the practice, holding safe space for healing and progression to naturally occur.
