The AromaTouch technique is an essential oil application applied to the back and the feet to create a feeling of overall wellness. The patterns of touch and oils used promote relaxation and stress release, boost immune response, and bring the body-mind into a more balanced state. Self-care is such an important part of maintaining whole person wellness. I believe that taking care of yourself shouldn't be expensive, and everyone should have access regardless of dispensable income. Aromatouch sessions are FREE and can be done in my home in Springfield, or in your home / office space. Sessions are 1 hour. I aim to provide the gift of yoga to youth of all ages with a positive, non-competitive and non-judgemental environment to learn tools that promote openness and flexibility of body and mind, encourage self and peer confidence, and  assist with stress control.  Together we access our true center and tap into our potential through breathing exercises, postures, creative movement, music, games, and mindfulness. Delivery of mind, body, and breath skills in public classes and classroom mini sessions enable kids yoga success which in turn enriches daily life. Classes are designed around Gardner’s Theory of the 8 Multiple Intelligences. Available for infant through teens. Mini-sessions : 30 minutes - are available for daycares, preschools, and all age classrooms. Special group classes : 60+ minutes - are available for organizations : scouting programs, youth groups, sports teams,etc. IMG_0016 Research backs the benefits of cultivating a practice from a young age.

KungaLogo_ysKunga is a Kinyerwandan word meaning to “to help or serve.”  It’s a methodology that encourages students into self-inquiry where you can strengthen your vessel to be of service to yourself first, then18721851_929226183887002_6626250092292603904_n to others. We always practice ahimsa, or non-harming in our Kunga practice. Your yoga should honor where you are when you come to your mat. Kunga, yoga as service, is rooted in two main tenants: The second tenent is our monthly service theme. Each Kunga class will provide students the opportunity to set an intention and reflect. As the instructor, Samantha will share the theme and guide students into exploring their own thoughts and feelings on the theme, and how they might choose to apply that to their life off the mat. These sessions are specifically tailored to meet the individual student’s needs and goals. 60-120 minute sessions allow for a tailored practice in the comfort of your own home or in our studio space.  We create a practice that allows you to meet yourself where you are on your mat and move through a clearly dedicated experience. Private yoga sessions include Thai Massage, gentle and firm assists, focus on breath work, asana, and meditation, healing music, all permitting you to frame the path of your practice. THAI BODYWORK Thai yoga is a modality born of the Northern Thailand tradition, with adaptations making it ideal for clients in the West. Thai Healing Massage (also known in the West as Thai Yoga massage) is an art over 2,000 years old, that offers the participant a holistic practice to harmonize the physical, energetic and emotional bodies. This energy re-balancing practice is a fusion of acupressure, reflexology, spiritual practice, ayurvedic bodywork, yoga asana, framed in compassion and loving kindness. Each body is approached intuitively and without judgement. The simple goal is to expand and create space in the body for prana or life force energy to flow, in order for all living beings to have vitality and find good mental, physical, and spiritual health. In thai massage, the recipient remains fully clothed throughout the session. There is constant body contact between the practitioner and client, where the body is compressed, pulled, stretched and rocked to clear energy blockages and relieve tension. This dance between results in more open joints, lengthening of muscles and tendons, releasing of fascia, internal organ tone and detoxification, and more balanced energy. The recipient benefits from an overall deep relaxation, rejuvenation, alignment of mental and physical well-being. Thai yoga treatment invites the participant to deeply and openly focus the breath and the awareness on the present, on compassion (starting with self, emanating out), existing in a radiant and protected space. Thai sessions can be in the recipients’ home / location of choice or in a studio space. The practitioner will provide massage mat, all of the props needed, and soft music if the recipient desires. The recipient wears comfortable, non restrictive clothing that provides adequate coverage. What is Y12SR?
The 12-step recovery model, created in 1939, is the most well-known and pervasive addiction/recovery program in the world with millions of practitioners internationally. In a word, the characteristics and effects of addiction could easily be described as separation. Addictive behaviors separate and disconnect us from ourselves, our loved ones, our environment and so much more. Conversely, yoga itself means union, integration, balance. Yoga and its practices teach the fine art of balancing our multidimensional lives while living in a complex world. The 12-step program approaches addiction at a cognitive level, yoga includes a somatic approach. The combining of the two creates a model that truly addresses addiction as the physical, mental and spiritual disease that it is. Y12SR recognizes that yoga and its practices are a part of a holistic recovery program and rather than a replacement, it provides adjunct tools to address the physical, mental and spiritual disease of addiction.

Y12SR® is a community organizing platform that provides a rich and powerful framework for integrating the wisdom of yoga and the practical tools of 12-step programs. Currently, there are 3 platform branches: Education and Training, The Addiction Treatment Center Initiative and The Y12SR Foundation.

Guided by its theme, “The Issues Live In the Tissues,” Y12SR meetings are now available all over country and the curriculum is quickly becoming a feature of addiction recovery treatment centers across the United States.
